Leadership in Volunteering Forum

Outlook’s Volunteer Coordinator, Sarah Kelly, attended the ‘Leadership in Volunteering Forum’ on Friday, which was organised by Minister Mikakos and the Ministerial Council for Volunteers. The Council, which was set up in 2015, provides advice to the Victorian Labor Government and provides a voice for the volunteer sector.

Sarah was identified by the Council as an integral leader of an organisation who utilises the expertise of volunteers to achieve success in the sector.

It was an opportunity to engage with the Minister for Families and Children Jenny Mikakos MP, (Minister for Families and Children) and the Chair of the Ministerial Council for Volunteers Gabrielle Williams MP.

The Leadership in Volunteering Discussion provided an opportunity for senior leaders and Executives to come together to hear emerging thinking on the leadership and management of volunteers, and contribute to the development of the Council’s strategic priorities for strengthening volunteering in Victoria.

The Volunteer Coordinator was inspired by keynote speakers Alisa Camplin-Warner OAM, a champion Winter Olympian and Board Member of many Foundations, and Catherine Brown, CEO of the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation.
